SMU's School of Information Systems (SIS) was created in November 2002 to extend the university's mission into the realm of business-focused information technology. SIS will deliver undergraduate, research, and masters/professional programmes. The first student intake for the Bachelor of Science (Information Systems Management) is August 2003. SMU and Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA) have entered into an exciting partnership to jointly establish the School of Information Systems. Carnegie Mellon faculty are actively participating in SIS faculty selection, mentoring, and development, and in the design of the SIS undergraduate curriculum, research center and masters/professional programmes.
